God is cool

Last night I went out to dinner with some friends. A moment of confession: yes, I broke my liquid fast. I'm not going to go into all that right now, except to say, the Lord is still smiling on me, and I am still fasting certain things. I feel like He kissed me even more with what happened while we were at dinner.

As soon as our waiter came over, all four of us knew that He wanted to use us, just by looking at the tatoos on both of his arms. I don't have anything against tatoos, especially since a good friend and brother, Roger has so many :) ! I try to understand the logic of the whole thing, but I have decided that it is a personal decision and between the person and God as to whether or not they should have tatoos.

The first tatoo we noticed was one that was a woman fortune teller. We began to ask questions and our waiter, Javier, began to explain that they all represented times in his life (even the skulls, and other horrific pictures). He said he likes to get tatoos so that they explain his life and he wouldn't have to tell people about who he is. He said that no one really knows him, not even his mother. We discussed this as we ate and he attended to other duties. We knew we had to ask him if we could pray for him, even though he said he had no religion, but didn't really share with people what he believed (no suprise here). We were so sad at his enclosed state, but knew we could share with him that Jesus knows who he is. He shared a little bit more about his life, being originally from Barcelona, Spain, and moving around a lot.

We asked if we could pray for him and he didn't know what to say or do, but said "okay". As we prayed for him the Spirit came on strong. We got to speak over him that he is loved, accepted, and has a destiny, among other things. When we were done he saide that he felt different and so happy. He said he'd never felt that before. He said he felt such a positive energy coming from us and we explained that it was Jesus. He even asked us if we had special powers! We again explained that it was all from God. Afterward, he shared about his family and even began to cry! We believe the Lord used us in a mighty way in this young man's life and we even got his number to try and follow up.

This all happened less than a mile away from IHOP. I believe that the Lord is changing the atmosphere, just like we've been praying! We just have to be faithful to minister his love to this dying and hurting generation! Thank you, Jesus!

Happy New Year!

For the first time in my life I celebrated the New Year this year, the Hebrew New Year, that is! I can say that I was honored and excited to have at least a smiggin of revelation on the importance of celebrating the High Holy day of Rosh Hashanah.

It began as I once again visited the messianic congregation of my friend Kevin, Beth Ha'Mashiach. It was a wonderful time of worship and remembrance of the Lord. I loved watching the women do some Davidic dancing, even with candles! My favorite part of the service was when the rabbi blew the shofar in all the different ways that have significance, including the blast that we will hear when Jesus descends on the clouds!

Then on Saturday we sieged our clinic, that will soon turn into a memorial! It was a very special day, as we understood the significance of the day and believe that we sounded an alarm in the spirit. Oh, that the Church in Altanta would wake up to the atrocity of abortion in our city! By sieging on Rosh Hashanah, we believe we made the statement that this clinic WILL shut down THIS year, in Jesus' name! Also, as we gathered to debrief and share communion, my friend, Chad, blew the shofar in celebration of the day. In reference to Rosh Hashana, the Word says:

The the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, "Speak to the children of Israel, saying; 'In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall have a sabbath-rest, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation. You shall do no customary work on it; and you shall offer an offering made by fire to the LORD.'" -Lev. 23:23-25

We gathered (holy convocation), blew trumpets as a memorial of what the Lord has done and for the memorial He will bring when this clinic is shut down, and we believe that by sieging we make an offering by fire to the Lord. I felt His pleasure over the day.

LIFE message in Atlanta

The Lord used me to speak the LIFE message last night. I found myself in front of about 250 young adults, of the Fusion ministry at Victory World Church, preaching the message. Before hand I felt unprepared and inadequate. I prayed, however, that God would give me the words and that hearts and minds would be shifted. I believe He did just that. I am soooo thankful for this opportunity, as I KNOW the Lord is about to rock all of Atlanta with the reality of what is going on inside the doors of our churches and homes regarding abortion.

At first, I thought people weren't getting it or didn't care, because they looked at me with blank stares (from what I could tell being blinded by the stage lights). Later, after talking with my team who came with me, they said they believed that people were just shocked to hear the reality of what is going on in America. To hear that the empty seats in that place could have been filled with people, but they are missing today because of abortion really shocked folks, as well it should have. As I ended the preaching portion, we went into intercession and prayed for our city, led by my leaders Jenn, Samuel, and Saji. An amazing team! (See pic from when we went to celebrate Jenn's b'day a few posts down). Also, God divinely orchestrated it to have a friend of mine (Leo), who is an amazing keyboardist, lead worship, with another close friend of mine (Christian) from IHOP on the guitar. The worship mixed with intercession was heavenly, and I'm not sure that all of the people really got it. A little while into it we gave a call for all those who feel called to be an intercessor. About 30 people came forward and we got to pray over them. Praise God! He really is moving in Atlanta!!!

As a side note, I also spoke the LIFE message at OneThing Atlanta. I did not feel as good about it personally, which is why I didn't blog about it. I know God moved despite my junk & weakness (in both cases), and for that I am grateful. It's really all about Him anyway!

40 Days

The Lord has been doing some amazing things in our House of Prayer. Over the past few weeks we have been learning what the culture of His Kingdom looks like (Matt 5-7). Then a few weeks ago, we began to ask the Lord for a 40-day fast, and that He would confirm it. He did just that. He gave us a fast and confirmed it to us through a couple of people (who didn't know at the time about the leadership asking for a fast). It is quite interesting to observe that God is working in our midst. He is causing us to be hungry for Him, and I strongly believe that we will encounter Him - soon. Well, with that said, we, as a House (IHOP) are beginning a 40-day fast today. This is good. I can only pray that the Lord would give us a large measure of grace to complete what we've begun.

This is reminiscent of being with The Cause....

According to the wise words of my friend, if I don't start blogging some random, but fluid thoughts, I'm gonna quit blogging altogther soon.

Lately I have not wanted to blog because I've been either so busy or not full of witty, fun things to say. I have overcome niether of those, so I'll just write what's going on...

  • I am cooking beans to make burritos with tonight. They're in the crock-pot with yummy spices and it's filling the house with good smells.
  • I'm about to go run errands, then head to the HOP, for my 4pm set.
  • On Tuesday my car got a new starter and I found out that I have people in my life who will go out of their way for me.
  • We are about to finish a Song of Solomon study in my Prayer Room Team. I think next we'll read and discuss Knowledge of the Holy, by AW Tozer (I've been wanting to read this for over a year now).
  • I'm finally getting chiropractic attention! If you live in the Atlanta area, I'd love to refer you to him. He is a blessing and a very big answer to prayer! Thanks Doc! ;)
Well, there's a lot going on I guess. I could write more bullet points, but maybe I'll just try and keep up my daily blogging!

Ahhh, beach....

For those of you who might be wondering, since I haven't posted in a while.... I'm at the beach. I haven't had internet access, but I'm at the local library to quickly check emails and post this. We are driving back to Hotlanta tomorrow and I will be back in the battle on Thursday. This has been a much-needed rest after the hustle-bustle of moving and OneThing. I know, however, that this next season will be intense, so I am thankful for a few days of rest and renewal. Bless all of you who are holding down your perspective forts in ATL, KC, DC, South Dakota, San Diego, etc. I love you and am praying for strength for you all.
