IHOP Turns Nightclub

I'm here a little late tonight, for a number of reasons, but mainly because I got sucked in. We're in the Annex on the weekends, and it's this quaint little space, that is way more intimate than the normal prayer room. Anyway, I stayed through the intercession set, because the focus was on praying for urgency for the hour, and well, I need urgency. I want that sense of urgency from the very moment I wake up, so that I can actually pop out of bed in the mornings (or afternoons) and be ready with a need to quickly get to the prayer room because we are running out of time.

So I ended up staying and one of my buddies who does the 2-4am "devo" had his turntables with him, so he started spinning all this club music. Next thing I know some other guy walks in with Coleman glowsticks, the lights go off and I'm now looking at 5 people in front of me dancing with the glowsticks. A minute ago we were praying to the music, but now it is mostly dancing. This would never fly in the daytime. I wonder what IHOP-KC would have to say about this. I really wanted to take a picture, but don't want to leave any evidence.

Israel is Not the Only Hot Spot

As much of the world has its eye on Israel and the Middle East, other strange things are happening around the world, in our own country. God has his eye on California. I think it no mistake that as our brothers and sisters, the Red Riders, blaze across CA preaching the word of the Lord, there are also a number of natural catastrophes going on, such as a record heat wave, many electrical blackouts, numerous wildfires, and an abundance of dead livestock. I really believe that the Lord is trying to speak to CA. These events are strange enough, but to happen all in one place, in one short span of time is too "coincidental" to write off as happenchance. I further think it interesting that all of these "events" have to do with heat or fire. Things really are heating up!

• Death of Livestock - Fifth plague of Egypt (Ex. 9:1-7)

• Wildfires - Seventh plague (hail mixed with FIRE - Ex.9:13)

• Blackouts - Ninth plague (Ex 10:21-29)

• Heat wave - natural disasters as a part of the birthpangs that lead up to the last seven years of this age (Matt 24:7-8; Luke 21:11)

Just a quick post to say that things are heating up here at IHOP and in Atlanta in general for the ending of abortion. A couple of weeks ago 4 people, who have been a part of B4L ATL went up to JHOP in DC and got even more gripped over this issue. Then a few days later they went up to the Rumble 4 America in Ft. Mill, SC. There were about 10-12 of us from Atlanta there in all. This past Sunday we had our little old school B4L prayer meeting at the HOP after the EGS, and we ended up discussing dreams and praying for over 2 hours. Then, on Monday the 10-12 blew up over this issue, and the at the 4-6 set, we nailed it too. Yesterday, on our all-staff fasting day, the 10-12 blew up again, praying for the ending of abortion in our city (I wasn't at the meeting, but heard about it second-hand from Billy). Then at the all-staff prayer meeting, we were all gripped with it again. It's all we prayed about. Let me just say that in the 7 months that I've been here, this has never happened. God is up to something. If you read this, please, PLEASE pray for us and the Silent Siege on Saturday. In addition to a youth group coming to join us for their mission week, there will be a lot of other people there. Also, another local church decided to come and do sidewalk counseling and evangelism while we are there too, so we could see some major things take place. Hallelujah!

Rumble Recap

It's crazy how quickly we forget things. Or, maybe it's just me and the fact that I have some short-term memory loss from past indulgences. It's only been 6 days since I got back from the Rumble and though I remember it and what I felt, I don't remember it as vividly as I'd like to. Billy explained this phenomenon in an excellent way once. He said that our earthly bodies are not equipped to grasp onto something of eternity for long periods of time. Therefore, we have a mountaintop experience and then a couple of days later it is "poof" and gone. We try frantically to grasp at it, but we are not able.

So, with all that said, here's a quick recap of the Rumble:

Saturday, July 1st - Bob Jones & Lou Engle spoke and Jason Upton led worship. The main theme of the night was the raising up of the sons and daughters of God.

Sunday, July 2nd (am) - Jason Upton preached an amazing message on knowing our identities as sons and daughters and allowing God to manifest eternity in us by joining Him in the place of suffering.

July 2nd (pm) - Jason Upton led worship and Kelsey Bohlender (one of my spiritual moms and our JHOP intern leader last year) spoke. She delivered a timely message about the need for a spirit of adoption. The Lord prophetically gave her a Horton Hears a Who Clock and told her to "sound the alarm". When she received the clock it was set to 11:50, and we believe that the Lord is saying that it is the 11th hour and abortion is about to be overturned, and to be ready to adopt all the "unwanted" babies.

Monday, July 3rd (am) - Nolan Clark gave a message about being confident in who we are by being confident in Jesus and the Cross. It was a wonderful exhortation, again to be who we are as sons and daughters, then from that place we are able to go to war.

July 3rd (pm) -Nolan Clark spoke on 2 Kings 9 and the ride of Jehu. It was an amazing rendition and revelation on that story. He related it to those of us in the Cause and exhorted us to keep going. After the message and intercession, Aswan North played and the Lord used him to bring an amazing sound from heaven. We were all awestruck as we knew there was angelic activity going on in the tent as Aswan sang/prophesied. Immediately afterward, the Holy Spirit fell in the form of laughter and people were literally rolling in wet dirt. I got hit and definitely needed the laughter, but did not roll around on the dirty ground.

Tuesday, July 4th (am) - Will Ford spoke about influence from the stars and the importance of praying for the 3rd Supreme Ct. justice according to some dreams he'd received from the Lord. It was another inspiring message and drove us into intercession again.

July 4th (pm) - Ferrill Gallaway spoke about the prophetic swirl over the South Dakota Abortion Ban and how it will determine how the rest of the states follow. There was so much I can't even write it all here. Just know that now is the time to pray for the elections in Nov. and that the people in SD will vote to keep the Ban effective. Afterward, the whole crew that came to the Rumble from Atlanta all prayed together. It was also a powerful time and we were also able to bless our brother Roger with prayer. God really is knitting our Bound4Life ATL team together in a neat way!
